Danceworks Teaching Philosophy
My 30-year teaching career (both in studios and public schools) has provided me with vast experience in both understanding exactly how much dance technique an individual child of a particular age can absorb and how much physical as well as mental challenge a child can cope with.
Therefore, we at DANCEWORKS will not force any child to learn a dance technique they aren't ready for. Parents can be aggressive in encouraging their child to accomplish and to participate in a class that perhaps they really shouldn't be in. Some children are burned out by 6-7 years old.
We provide a secure and positive approach to learning dance and above it all, it must be fun and the child must be here because she really enjoys it here. We work, but we enjoy our work to learn in a non-competitive atmosphere. All DANCEWORKS teachers share this philosophy.
